Sadie at Festival of Lights 07        Sadie Yancey has been hooping for two years.  She found hooping at a summer festival, and started talking.  Quickly, other hoopers and would-be hoopers appeared; they made some hoops and gathered outside of a friend's house throughout the summer.  She found hooping was a great balance for her desk-oriented job in medial imaging.

Sadie has been teaching hooping through informal jams since she first picked up a hoop, and herself learning through videos and other hoopers.  Immediately after completing her master's degree she rushed to San Francisco to take part in the Level 1 HoopGirl (TM)Teacher Training and received her License in December 2007.
Sadie at Darkside Gala 07
She has studied belly dance for the last 5 years, most recently with Audra of the DarkSideStudio and is a member of Lavish Dance Company.  She has also been a student of capoiera and more recently, NIA.  Sadie was a dancer and choreographer from 2005 to 2007 for the Only Human Dance Collective, a group that believes everyone *can* and *should* dance.

Hooping helps Sadie to loosen up, go for what she wants, and radiate joy.  She hoops on good days and bad, and believes that positive thought leads to positive experiences.   She is a second-chakra junkie.  She also really likes cookies.

As well as teaching, Sadie performs with the hoop, often on fire.  You may have seen her at Kensington's Festival of Lights or as part of Luminato, or maybe just goofing around in an alley
